Stephen M.
Komarec is a Wisconsin native, and received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Juris Doctor from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his undergraduate
studies, Steve interned with Asyst Technologies, LLC and Case
Corporation. He also worked as a Page in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
While attending
law school, Steve was the recipient of the State Bar Award for the
Highest Grade in Introduction to Substantive Criminal Law. He
also was a Judicial Intern in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern
District of Wisconsin.
Steve also served
in the U.S. Armed Forces as a Specialist in the U.S. Army.
In his spare time,
Steve enjoys sports, current events, reading, and outdoor
activities.

Nathaniel P. Longley
is a registered patent attorney with a background in electrical and
mechanical engineering, particle physics and astrophysics. He has a Bachelor’s
Degree in Physics (cum laude) from Carleton College, and both a J.D. (cum
laude) and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Longley was a Postdoctoral
Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, has taught physics at Carleton
College in Northfield, Minnesota and Swarthmore College in Swarthmore,
Pennsylvania. He has co-authored approximately one hundred scholarly articles
in neutrino physics, astrophysics and statistical methods. Dr. Longley remains
involved in physics and physics education, is an avid reader and freshwater
fisherman, and keeps active by running and managing sports and social calendars
for two teenager daughters and an eight-year-old.
Dr. Longley’s legal studies
focused on intellectual property law and international human rights. He was an
invited participant in the inaugural Walter F. Mondale Seminar in International
Relations, and co-authored the ABA response to the U.S. PTO’s five-year
Strategic Plan for 2007–12. Dr. Longley has also written, presented and edited
works on general intellectual property law, trade secret law, obviousness in
light of KSR Int’l v. Teleflex, and copyright infringement.
