John Simpson

Professional Experience
John is an associate with Kinney & Lange. John’s practice primarily focuses on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and client counseling. This work includes drafting patent applications, coordinating with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to receive valuable intellectual property rights for clients, and working closely with clients to achieve the right intellectual property strategy and services tailored to their personal or business needs.
Prior to law school, John worked as a mechanical engineer at Wold Architects & Engineers where he designed and supervised construction of HVAC systems. His technology experience includes air ventilation products as well as pump driven heating and cooling systems. John then earned his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law where he was a member of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. He is admitted to practice in the state of Minnesota. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as sports of all kinds including soccer, golf, basketball, and baseball.
